Cash out

Feature allowing a bet to be settled before the event ends, for a value calculated in real time.

Also known as: encerramento antecipado

Cash out lets a bettor settle a wager before the event concludes, receiving a value computed from current odds. It is one of the features with the greatest simultaneous impact on experience and margin.

On the product side it increases the sense of control and sustains engagement in long-horizon bets. On the trading side it introduces new exposure: the offered value embeds a margin, and mispricing, especially in low-liquidity markets or during suspension, becomes a direct loss.

Points separating a good implementation from an expensive one:

  • Explicit, monitored cash-out margin per market, not inherited from the original pricing.
  • Suspension rules consistent with the data feed; offering cash out during a decisive play invites arbitrage.
  • Partial and automatic cash out increase usage, and also the exposure surface.
  • Clear communication: a refused cash out with no explanation is one of the biggest ticket generators in sportsbook support.
