White label

Model where a brand operates on a third party platform and often under that third party licence.

Also known as: marca branca · turnkey

White label is the model where a brand operates on a third party's technology platform and often under that party's regulatory licence. The brand operator handles acquisition, CRM and content; the supplier handles platform, game integrations, payments and, in the full arrangement, the regulatory framing.

Advantage: far shorter time to market and low upfront capital, with no licensing process of your own.

Costs that are usually underestimated:

  • Regulatory dependence. If the licence belongs to the supplier, decisions about the regulator are not yours.
  • Lower margin, because revenue is shared.
  • Little product freedom. Roadmap, providers and bonus rules are limited by what the platform allows.
  • Base portability. Migrating from white label to your own licence involves re-onboarding players, and the contract must state who owns the data.

The alternative is turnkey, where the brand holds its own licence and contracts only the technology, more control, more responsibility and higher fixed cost.
