Rollover / Wagering requirement

How many times a bonus amount must be wagered before it becomes withdrawable balance.

Also known as: wagering · requisito de aposta

Rollover (or wagering requirement) is the condition defining how many times a bonus amount, sometimes bonus plus deposit, must be wagered before the balance becomes withdrawable.

It is the lever that separates a healthy promotion from an uncontrolled cost, and it has three parameters often treated as one:

  • Multiplier: 20x, 35x, 40x. On its own it says little.
  • Calculation base: bonus only, or bonus plus deposit. The effective difference between the two is large.
  • Game contribution: how much each game type counts toward the requirement. Slots typically contribute 100%; table and low-variance games a fraction, and it is this rule that prevents clearing a rollover at near-zero risk.

A badly designed rollover is the origin of much of what operators classify as abuse. Adjusting game contribution and bet caps during the rollover solves more than any risk rule applied afterwards.
